Rapper 21 Savage encountered immigration-related complications that prevented his appearance at one of Drake’s recent tour stops in Canada, according to TMZ reports. Instead of 21 Savage, Drake brought out Lil Baby for his performance at the ScotiaBank Arena.
The incident unfolded on Friday (October 6) during Drake’s “It’s All A Blur” tour. For 21 Savage, this Toronto show was to mark his first performance outside of the United States since his 2019 arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Sources close to the situation told Discover Lyrics that the decision to revoke 21 Savage’s work permit was made at the last minute. However, the specific reasons behind this decision remain unclear.
21 Savage has been accompanying Drake on his tour but notably did not appear at any of the Canadian dates. It is uncertain whether this absence is related to immigration issues.
