The embattled rapper 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, has found himself in legal hot water once again, this time in the Dominican Republic.
According to Felix Portes, a prominent criminal lawyer in the country, the Brooklyn-based artist was apprehended while attempting to leave the Dominican Republic on a private aircraft, all in connection with an alleged assault case.
It is reported that 6ix9ine and his entourage stand accused of assaulting two producers, with the incident purportedly revolving around a dispute concerning the rapper’s girlfriend.
Felix Portes took to Instagram to shed light on the situation, disclosing that 6ix9ine had been placed under a “migration alert,” and his current whereabouts remain undisclosed. Portes stated, “Trying to leave the country on a private plane, Tekashi 69 turned out to have MIGRATION ALERT.

His trip was aborted. The popular artist is on the run, his whereabouts unknown since there is an arrest warrant issued for beatings and injuries and threats.” Video footage of the alleged altercation captured a group of individuals entering a building and hastily fleeing the scene moments later.
This is not the first time the controversial rapper has encountered legal troubles. In August, 6ix9ine faced arrest in Florida due to a series of traffic violations, including speeding. It was reported that he was pulled over for driving at a staggering 135 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Florida Turnpike. The traffic stop unearthed additional issues, including his vehicle being unregistered and lacking car insurance.
Following the incident, 6ix9ine was booked into a Palm Beach County jail on charges of “failure to appear” before being released on bail after posting a $2,000 bond.
