Killer Mike found himself in an unexpected situation on Sunday night as he was seen handcuffed inside the Crypto.com arena shortly after winning three Grammy Awards, including one for Best Rap Album.
The incident, which occurred while the Grammy Awards were underway inside the Los Angeles arena, was captured in video footage that circulated online, showing the rapper being escorted by several police officers.
Off-camera, someone could be heard expressing disbelief at the situation.
According to journalist Chris Gardner, an official indicated that Killer Mike might be released at some point on Sunday.
Gardner reported that the handcuffing was related to a misdemeanor that had no connection to the Grammy Awards, deeming it “a big nothing” based on his sources.

Later in the evening, reporter Tomas Mier tweeted that Killer Mike was “detained following a physical altercation” and subsequently questioned. An ongoing investigation into the incident was mentioned by Mier.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Killer Mike’s achievements at the Grammy Awards were notable. He secured wins for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” as well as Best Rap Album for Michael.
His Best Rap Performance win was shared with featured artists André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane, while he also shared the Best Rap Song award with co-writers André 3000, Paul Beauregard, James Blake, Tim Moore, and Dion Wilson.
During one of his acceptance speeches, Killer Mike delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the realization of dreams. Following his arrest, he took to Twitter to express gratitude, stating, “Thank God. .”
