Kelly Rowland made headlines Thursday morning with a dramatic exit from NBC’s “Today” show, allegedly due to dissatisfaction with her dressing room accommodations, according to exclusive sources shared with Page Six.
“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,” a source familiar with the situation told Page Six.
However, Rowland reportedly pulled out last minute after expressing dissatisfaction with her dressing room, leaving Kotb scrambling to find a replacement.
Sources familiar with the situation revealed that Rowland and her team were discontented with the dressing room provided, prompting them to withdraw from the show. This unexpected move left Kotb without a guest host for the 10 a.m. segment.
Rowland’s sudden departure puzzled insiders, considering her positive relationship with “Today” and Kotb’s enthusiasm for her appearance. The abrupt exit led to a dramatic situation as Rowland and her team sought alternative dressing room options, even considering an upstairs room occupied by Jennifer Lopez.

While the dressing rooms at “Today” are described as small and modest, the show’s producers offered Rowland various alternatives, including talent dressing rooms and larger makeup and hair areas.
“They’re not nice. It’s the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it’s] not glamorous. It’s not fresh flowers, and candles and gourmet food. It’s basically [a] white box,” shared the TV source.
Despite these efforts to accommodate her, Rowland’s team remained dissatisfied and ultimately decided to leave.
Fortunately, Rita Ora stepped in to fill Rowland’s spot, graciously accepting similar dressing room accommodations. Representatives for “Today” and Rowland declined to comment on the incident.
