Florida rapper Jackboy, born Pierre Delince, found himself in legal trouble after being arrested and booked on multiple drug and weapons charges during a routine traffic stop in Port St. Lucie on Tuesday night.
As reported by CBS12, police detectives initiated the traffic stop on a Chevrolet Suburban close to 11 p.m. due to the vehicle’s excessively tinted windows.
Additionally, officers allegedly detected the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the car.
During the stop, detectives observed a handgun inside the vehicle. Aware that the driver, 26-year-old Jackboy, was a convicted felon with a suspended driver’s license, they promptly took him into custody.
At the scene, Jackboy’s brother Rodney arrived and informed authorities that the firearm found in the vehicle belonged to him.
Rodney explained that he had inadvertently left the gun behind when exiting the vehicle prior to the traffic stop.
Further items were discovered inside the vehicle, including a vape pen, a container labeled “Yurple Drizzle Goblin” containing marijuana residue, and two empty marijuana packages, in addition to the handgun. It was revealed that Jackboy, due to an active protection order from a previous incident, is prohibited from possessing or purchasing a firearm.
Jackboy now faces charges including possession of a weapon by a felon, use or display of a firearm, possession of marijuana exceeding 20 grams, and several other misdemeanors. He is currently being held in police custody without bond.
