A biopic centered on Rihanna’s life would undoubtedly captivate audiences. But who could step into the shoes of the 36-year-old singer, entrepreneur, and fashion icon? Rihanna herself answered this question at the Fenty Hair launch event in Los Angeles on Monday.
“Taylor Russell,” she told E! News. “You know why? Because she’s got a nice forehead. She’s fly. I feel like I want to be her, so I want her to pretend to be me. I want people to see me in that light.”
Taylor Russell, best known for her roles in “Bones and All” and “Waves,” as well as her relationship with Harry Styles, is Rihanna’s choice to portray her in a future biographical film.
At the same event, Rihanna also gave fans an update on her highly anticipated album, R9. “I’m starting over,” she revealed to Entertainment Tonight.
“But I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective, and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”
She added, “I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start—give me a second!”
