Big Sean’s new album will not arrive this Friday as originally planned.
The 36-year-old rapper announced his plans to push back the release of his sixth studio album, Better Me Than You, just days before its intended August 9 release date.
Sean shared a post to his Instagram account on Monday promoting his latest single “On Up,” writing, “I think I’m a throw a bbq 4 real that we can all end summer wit, cause this song give me that feeling! BETTER ME THAN YOU ALBUM SOON! ☀️”
“Why u saying album soon like it’s not suppose to drop on the 9th !!!???!??” wrote the fan in the comments section.
“i gotta push it just a lil bit. Music done but jus organizing listening events, shows etc. might need a extra week or 2 to plan. ✨,” Sean replied.
The former G.O.O.D. Music artist did not blame the delay on the album’s leak last month that some people claim came from a fan of the artist formerly known as Kanye West. Other fans alleged that Ye was behind the leak himself.
“I know he ain’t do that shit. I love Ye. Without him, there would be no me,” he said during an Instagram Live stream in July, per X user GothamHipHop.
“I been there since Graduation. I got to study, contribute, give energy to every project. 808s, Beautiful Twisted… I know he wouldn’t do that, that’s trash. So whoever did do that, just know it did fuck me up,” he added.
Sean has yet to announce a new release date for Better Me Than You on his social media.
