Country singer Rory Feek has opened up about a family dispute involving his youngest daughter, Indiana, in a heartfelt blog post titled “Love, Dad.”
The post addresses serious allegations made by Feek’s eldest daughters, Heidi and Hopie, who claim Indiana is not safe under their father’s care.
Feek, 59, firmly denied these claims, clarifying that while Indiana is welcome to visit her sisters at any time, she is no longer allowed to stay overnight at their homes.
He explained this decision stems from a difference in values, as he is committed to raising Indiana with the conservative Christian principles he believes his late wife, Joey, would have wanted.
“Heidi doesn’t think she has to respect my wishes when it comes to her little sister,” he wrote, explaining he holds conservative Christian values and his oldest children do not.
The “Gentleman” singer also revealed that tensions escalated when Heidi allegedly tried to sue him, which led to an investigation by Child Protective Services.
Feek accused his daughters of seeking revenge, prioritizing their grievances over Indiana’s well-being, which prompted him to restrict their contact with her.
In response to rumors that Indiana had been left with members of a controversial group while he was on his honeymoon with his new wife, Rebecca, Feek clarified that Indiana stayed with close family friends. He defended the group, calling it an “intentional Christian community” rather than a cult, as some have alleged.
“It had become clear that Heidi wasn’t looking out for Indiana’s best interest — she was looking for revenge and a way to hurt me, no matter the cost, and I was no longer going to let Indiana be a part of it,” he continued.
Despite the ongoing family conflict, Feek remains hopeful for reconciliation, acknowledging that Indiana misses her sisters deeply.
In a public statement, Heidi and Hopie responded to Feek’s blog post, reiterating their love for Indiana and expressing frustration over their father’s actions.
Feek shares Indiana with his late wife, Joey, who passed away from cancer in 2016 when Indiana was just two years old. He also has two older daughters, Heidi and Hopie, from a previous relationship.
