Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail after pleading not guilty to charges in a high-profile sex-trafficking case. A New York federal judge ruled that the 54-year-old music legend posed a “serious flight risk” and ordered him to remain in custody. According to prosecutors, Combs allegedly operated a criminal enterprise that used drugs and violence to force women to “fulfill his sexual desires” from as early as 2008.
The 14-page indictment outlines charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and the transportation of individuals for prostitution. If found guilty on all counts, Combs faces 15 years to life in prison. Appearing in Manhattan court wearing casual attire, he pleaded “not guilty” to all charges.
‘Freak Offs’ and Firearms: Inside Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Legal Battle
Prosecutors claim Combs used his fame to lure women into extended sexual encounters, dubbed “Freak Offs,” during which controlled substances were allegedly distributed to keep them compliant. Federal agents discovered firearms, defaced rifles, and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant during raids on his homes in Miami and Los Angeles. U.S. prosecutor Damian Williams indicated more charges might follow.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, vigorously defended his client, stating, “He didn’t do these things. There’s no coercion and no crime.” The defense team has appealed the bail decision, with a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
Sex Trafficking Allegations Shake Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Legacy
The indictment against Sean Combs accuses him of leading a criminal enterprise involved in sex trafficking, forced labor, and other serious crimes. Prosecutors allege that Combs physically abused women and coerced them into sexual acts to protect his reputation and conceal his behavior. The charges come after a civil lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, singer Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, who accused him of violent abuse in November.
Despite Combs’ history of success in the music industry, including his work with stars like Mary J. Blige and Usher, these new charges have cast a shadow over his legacy. Multiple lawsuits have been filed against him by women accusing him of sexual and physical abuse.
