Kylie Minogue is a puzzle enthusiast, often solving crosswords, sudoku, and Spelling Bee challenges to calm her nerves before concerts.
Her love for word games is well-known, with her friend Kathy Lette once saying that Kylie is a Scrabble master who “knows how to score big.”
Interestingly, Kylie’s name itself is a valid Scrabble word, worth 12 points.
However, when it comes to Wordle, the pop star takes a different approach.
Rather than solving the puzzle quickly, Kylie purposely drags it out, saying, “It’s annoying if you get it in two lines. I want it to be more of a challenge.”
This deliberate choice reflects her approach to life and her 37-year career in the music industry, where she’s faced numerous challenges—from harsh critics to personal struggles, including her battle with breast cancer.
Currently, Kylie is enjoying a career high, thanks to the global success of her 2023 hit Padam Padam.
The infectious club anthem became a viral sensation, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community, and earned her first UK top 10 hit in over a decade.
Kylie has since ridden this wave of success to new heights, winning her first Grammy in 20 years in February and being honored as a “global icon” at the Brit Awards in March.
Reflecting on her career, Kylie likens her journey to surfing: “We’re paddling, paddling, paddling, and sometimes you catch a wave. So I really want to ride this one and enjoy the view.”
Kylie is now extending the success of her chart-topping album Tension with a follow-up, featuring 13 new tracks that continue its sleek, electro-pop sound.
The new project was inspired by the flood of high-quality material submitted to her team after Tension‘s success.
“I couldn’t say no,” she says. “It just kept growing, so I decided to give fans a lot more than a little bit extra.”
