The tragic death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, on October 16 has left fans and the music world in shock.
Payne fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and authorities from El Sistema de Atención Médica de Emergencias (SAME) confirmed the news to Telemundo.
The local emergency medical service reported that police had responded to a 911 call about a disturbance at the hotel, located in the Palermo neighborhood.
The call described an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
However, officials have yet to confirm whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
Payne had been in Argentina for over two weeks, spending time with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. She had shared on social media that she was returning to Florida on October 14.
During his stay, Payne also attended a concert by his former One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan, on October 2.
