The Cheltenham Jazz Festival has revealed an exciting lineup for its 80th anniversary, set to take place from April 30 to May 5, 2025, across Montpellier Gardens and various venues in Cheltenham.
David Gray, Jools Holland, Nubya Garcia, and Corinne Bailey Rae, performing with Ronnie Scott’s Orchestra, are among the headliners celebrating this milestone year.
Festival head Ian George expressed his excitement: “Bringing together the finest contemporary jazz from across the globe, we celebrate every genre that pulses with jazz’s vibrant DNA.”
The festival will feature a mix of large-scale concerts, intimate club performances, world premieres, masterclasses, and family-friendly events.
David Gray, making his festival debut, will perform songs from his upcoming album Dear Life alongside his greatest hits.
Nubya Garcia returns after her sold-out 2022 show to showcase her acclaimed album Odyssey.
Corinne Bailey Rae will perform a unique set with Ronnie Scott’s Orchestra, and pianist Jools Holland, along with Gilson Lavis, will bring their dynamic sound to the festival.
Headlining the Big Top tent will be Malian duo Amadou & Mariam, known for blending traditional Malian music with elements of funk, reggae, and Afro-Cuban jazz.
The festival’s Parabola Arts Centre will also return, dedicated to showcasing innovative new music.
Alex Carr, Jazz Programmer for the festival, promised a “diverse programme” that will highlight the best of UK and international jazz.
The full lineup will be announced early next year, building anticipation for one of the UK’s premier jazz events.
