Tulisa Contostavlos, the N-Dubz singer and former X-Factor judge, has shared personal insights into her sexuality with her fellow campmates on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.
The 36-year-old revealed that she identifies as demisexual, meaning she only feels sexual attraction after forming a deep emotional connection with someone.
She explained that she needs a close bond with a person before she feels any sexual desire, stating, “For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way.”
Her revelation sparked curiosity among viewers about the term “demisexual,” which refers to individuals who are not immediately attracted to someone based on physical appearance or other superficial traits but rather after forming a meaningful, emotional connection.
Tulisa admitted she is “not an overly sexualised person,” describing herself as a “slow, slow burner” when it comes to romantic relationships. She also shared that she hasn’t had sex for over three years.
Tulisa further disclosed that although she has a profile on the exclusive dating app Raya, the thought of dating makes her feel “physically sick.”
This openness is part of her candid conversation with her I’m A Celeb campmates, where she emphasized the importance of emotional depth in relationships.
The singer also reflected on her struggles with her appearance, revealing that she had undergone surgery and fillers after being diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, a condition that causes temporary facial paralysis.
Tulisa shared with podcast host Olivia Atwood that Bell’s palsy caused her “whole face [to] drop,” leading her to seek treatments to restore symmetry to her face.
Tulisa is currently navigating her time in the Australian jungle alongside other stars, including Coleen Rooney, GK Barry, Danny Jones from McFly, and Radio 1 DJs Melvin Odoom and Dean McCullough.
