Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has filed a restraining order request against Tory Lanez, currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting her in 2020.
Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, accuses Lanez of harassing her from behind bars and subjecting her to “repeated trauma and re-victimization.”
Court documents filed in Los Angeles claim Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, has used third parties to spread misinformation about the case.
Megan’s lawyers specifically allege that blogger Milagro Gramz, real name Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, has acted as a “mouthpiece” for Lanez, sharing false narratives on his behalf.
They further claim Lanez discussed payments to the blogger with his father, Sonstar Peterson, though Lanez’s legal team denies any connection.
Lanez’s attorneys dismissed the allegations as “ridiculous,” promising that “the truth will be revealed” in court.
Milagro Gramz’s representatives declined to comment, stating that an official response would be presented in a separate lawsuit.
Lanez was convicted last year of negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm.
During the trial, jurors heard how Lanez shot at Megan’s feet after an argument following a party hosted by Kylie Jenner.
Megan testified that Lanez ordered her to “dance” before opening fire when she tried to exit their vehicle.
Lanez has maintained his innocence, writing on Instagram that he refuses to apologize “for something I did not do.”
The judge criticized Lanez for attempting to “intimidate Ms. Pete and silence her truths from being heard.”
The trial polarized the hip-hop community, with several artists initially doubting Megan’s claims. Rapper 50 Cent later apologized for suggesting Megan lied about being shot.
Megan revealed she had faced relentless online harassment since the attack, admitting she initially told police she stepped on glass to avoid further trouble.
Megan’s legal team also accuses Lanez of trying to disrupt the release of her recent documentary, which details her struggles with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts after the shooting and trial.
Lanez’s lawyers rejected this assertion, saying he was merely complying with court deadlines.
With the ongoing legal battle intensifying, Megan’s lawyers argue that seeking a civil harassment restraining order is now her only option to stop Lanez’s alleged campaign of harassment.
A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for January 9.
