Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as a performer at this year’s Brit Awards, where she will also receive the prestigious Global Success award for her “phenomenal” worldwide music sales.
For the first time, the honour has been opened to international artists, with Sabrina becoming its first non-British recipient.
Previous winners include One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Sam Smith.
In addition to the Global Success award, the Espresso singer is nominated for international artist of the year and international song of the year.
Organisers praised Sabrina’s achievements, calling 2024 “a truly incredible year” for the artist, during which she “dominated global charts.”
Sabrina spent a total of 21 weeks at number one on the UK singles chart and made history as the first female artist to hold the top three positions simultaneously.
In the U.S., her three singles—Taste, Please Please Please, and Espresso—matched a record set by The Beatles 60 years ago, according to Brit Awards organisers.
Sabrina will perform alongside other stars such as JADE, Myles Smith, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims at the ceremony on 1 March.
While fans expressed excitement about Sabrina’s performance and recognition, some suggested British acts like Charli XCX and Dua Lipa would have been more suitable winners.
Charli XCX is nominated for five awards, including album and artist of the year, while Dua Lipa is in the running for four prizes, including best pop act—a title she won last year.
Last year’s rising star winners, The Last Dinner Party, who had to cut short their tour in 2023, are also set to perform. They are nominated in four categories.
