Based in Franklin, Tennessee, Steffany Gretzinger gained recognition in 2014 with her debut solo album, “The Undoing,” in collaboration with Bethel Music. This album marked a significant breakthrough, securing a place on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching number twenty. Additionally, it achieved a top-five ranking among both Top Christian and Independent albums in September 2014.
Career
In her career, Steffany Gretzinger primarily served as a worship leader within Bethel Music, a notable component of Bethel Church in Redding, California. She contributed her background vocals to several Bethel Music releases, including “Be Lifted High” (2011), where she was credited under her previous name, Steffany Frizzell. She also featured on “One Thirst” alongside fellow Bethel collective member Jeremy Riddle. Moreover, she provided background vocals on fellow Bethel Music member William Matthews’ release, “Hope’s Anthem” (2011), still recognized as Steffany Frizzell at the time.
One remarkable collaborative release was “The Loft Sessions” (2012), where she was a featured vocalist and composer. The Loft Sessions, recorded in a rustic, refurbished loft space, showcased her soulful rendition of “You Know Me” (solo) and her harmonious performance of “My Dear” with Hunter Thompson. In the same year, Steffany Gretzinger’s vocal prowess shone through on the album “For the Sake of the World,” where she delivered a captivating rendition of “Closer.”
She continued to make meaningful contributions to Bethel Music’s projects with her involvement in the release of “Tides” (2013). This album, released internationally, featured her songs “Letting Go” and “Be Still.”
