“Lion” (stylized in all-caps) is the tenth live album by Elevation Worship, an American contemporary worship band. Released on March 4, 2022, via Elevation Worship Records and Provident Label Group, this album features prominent worship leaders including Chris Brown, Jonsal Barrientes, Brandon Lake, Pat Barrett, Tiffany Hudson, Joe L. Barnes, and Chandler Moore.
The album gained substantial support through the release of singles such as “Might Get Loud” and “Same God.” “Might Get Loud” reached No. 20 on the US Hot Christian Songs chart, while “Same God” claimed the No. 1 spot on the same chart. Additionally, promotional singles from the album included “What I See” and “This Is the Kingdom,” both of which achieved chart success with “What I See” peaking at No. 28 and “This Is the Kingdom” reaching No. 27 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. To further promote the album, Elevation Worship embarked on the Elevation Nights 2022 Arena Tour and the Elevation Worship Summer Tour, covering various cities across the United States.
Upon its release, “Lion” attained commercial success, debuting at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart in the United States and at No. 3 on the Official Charts’ Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart in the United Kingdom. The album garnered recognition with two GMA Dove Award nominations for Worship Album of the Year and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year at the 2022 GMA Dove Awards. Furthermore, “Lion” received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
