An unexpected altercation involving prominent figures in the music industry, including Travis Scott, Southside, and Alexander “AE” Edwards, unfolded during an event in Cannes, France.
The incident, which took place adjacent to the Cannes Film Festival, reportedly saw tensions rise as Tyga, another notable rapper, looked on.
Initial footage shared by Hollywood Unlocked captured the chaotic scene in dim lighting, where multiple individuals were seen engaging in a scuffle while a DJ played music in the background.
Although the identities of those involved were difficult to discern, the disturbance was significant enough to disrupt the event.
A clearer video later shared by Complex revealed a more defined picture of the altercation, indicating a scuffle between Scott, Edwards, producer Southside, and several others.
While Tyga did not appear to be directly involved in the physical confrontation, Edwards had attended the Cannes Gala alongside the rapper earlier that day.
Reports from TMZ suggest that the altercation occurred at an event hosted by Richie Akiva, escalating after certain individuals were acknowledged over the mic.
According to eyewitnesses, tensions escalated when Southside and AE began pushing each other, prompting Travis Scott to join in shortly after.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, although chaos ensued, with models reportedly caught in the midst of the melee, and an ice bucket allegedly being used as a weapon.
Sources close to the event revealed to Page Six that Travis Scott was perceived as the aggressor, with his behavior described as “neurotic, erratic, and crazy.”
However, neither Scott nor Tyga has issued a statement regarding the incident, leaving the details surrounding its cause somewhat murky.
Speculation regarding the root of the conflict has arisen due to the romantic history between Tyga and Travis Scott, both of whom were previously involved with Kylie Jenner.
Jenner, who shares children with Scott, has since moved on to a relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet. The tension between the two rappers, coupled with Scott’s recent musical release, “Meltdown,” has led to conjecture among fans regarding potential lyrical jabs directed at Chalamet.
