Jon Bon Jovi has two brothers, Anthony and Matthew. His Italian and Slovak ancestry can be traced back to Sciacca, Sicily, while his mother’s heritage includes German and Russian roots. Despite past rumors linking him to Frank Sinatra, Jon Bon Jovi clarified in a 2016 interview that there was no familial connection. He was raised in the Catholic faith and spent summers with his grandparents in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he also sold newspapers. Musical Career:
Jon Bon Jovi’s musical journey commenced in 1974 when, at the tender age of 13, he formed his first band named Raze and even took part in a school talent contest. By the age of 16, he established the band Atlantic City Expressway, and it was during this time that he joined forces with David Bryan, who would later become a key member of the Bon Jovi band. Still in his teenage years, Bon Jovi and his band John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones performed at various clubs, including the Fast Lane, and had the privilege of opening for local acts. By 1980, Jon Bon Jovi had assembled his initial original band, the Rest, and shared the stage with New Jersey’s musical stalwarts like Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
