Kari Jobe, a renowned Christian artist, was born in Waco, Texas in 1981 to Mark and Caroline “Sandy” (née Bragg) Jobe. Growing up in the suburbs of Fort Worth, specifically Watauga and Hurst, she discovered her passion for singing at a young age of three. Embracing Christianity at five years old, Jobe’s musical journey blossomed. To enhance her knowledge and skills, she pursued education at Oral Roberts University, Christ for the Nations Institute, and Dallas Baptist University, ultimately earning a degree in pastoral studies and psychology.
Jobe gained recognition in 2009 with her hit songs “Revelation Song” and “Holy Spirit.”
Post-graduation, she embraced an opportunity as an associate worship pastor at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, a community she had actively participated in for six years. Collaborating with her father, Mark, who served as the campus pastor at Gateway’s flagship location, she made meaningful contributions. Jobe’s passion for spreading the message of faith took her across borders on international mission trips, leading worship for diverse audiences. Simultaneously, she played a pivotal role in Gateway Worship, a Christian worship band affiliated with Gateway Church. Notably, the band’s live album, Wake Up the World, achieved a remarkable feat by debuting at No. 2 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart in 2008.
Beyond her roles as a worship leader and pastor, Jobe showcased her artistic talent by releasing her first major-label album in February 2009 under the Integrity Music/Columbia Records/Gateway Create label.
