Marcos Witt, an influential American Christian music singer and pastor, is celebrated as one of the most prominent figures in Spanish-speaking Christian music. Born to Jerry and Nola Witt, a dedicated American missionary couple, Marcos Witt’s journey is marked by faith and dedication.
In 1960, the Witt family embarked on a missionary venture to Durango, Mexico, where they initiated a life-changing outreach program. Tragedy struck in 1964 when Jerry Witt’s small aircraft, while distributing copies of the Gospel of St. John to remote Mexican villages, was shot down, leading to his untimely demise. Despite this heart-wrenching loss, Nola Witt persevered in her missionary work. Later, she married Frank Warren, and together, they continued the mission by establishing new churches in Durango, Mexico, and raising a family of their own.
Marcos Witt’s educational journey began with fundamental studies at the American School of Durango. He subsequently pursued classical music education at the University of Juarez in Durango, Mexico, and eventually delved into theological studies at the International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, earning a respected degree. Furthermore, Witt obtained an M.A. from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
