Summer Marjani Walker, an American R&B singer, was born on April 11, 1996. In 2017, she inked a deal with Love Renaissance and Interscope Records. The next year, she unveiled her mixtape, “Last Day of Summer,” which gave birth to the hit single “Girls Need Love.”
This track marked her first appearance in the top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart after a remix featuring Drake.

In her early life, Walker was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Between 2016 and 2018, she ran a small cleaning business and worked as an exotic dancer in Atlanta. It was during this time that she learned to play the guitar by watching YouTube tutorials. Subsequently, she began sharing cover performances by posting videos of herself on the platform.
Her musical journey began when she was discovered by someone with the same name as her, working as the studio manager of Love Renaissance, an Atlanta-based label. In 2017, she signed with Love Renaissance and Interscope Records. On October 19, 2018, she unveiled her debut commercial mixtape, “Last Day of Summer,” featuring the lead single, “Girls Need Love.” The album conveyed her thoughts on love, doubt, and womanhood.
Toward the end of 2018, Walker embarked on a tour with 6lack on the “From East Atlanta With Love Tour.” Following the success of her mixtape, Apple Music recognized her as its newest Up Next artist in 2019, and she rose to become the 8th R&B artist globally on the platform. On January 25, 2019, she released her first EP titled “Clear,” which included four tracks of acoustic recordings. She further expanded her reach by dropping a remix of her song “Girls Need Love” with Drake on February 27, 2019.
