The Front Bottoms, hailing from Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, are a prominent American indie rock band. Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Brian Sella and drummer Mat Uychich, the band also includes their current touring members: guitarist and backing vocalist AJ Peacox, bassist and backing vocalist Natalie Newbold, and bassist, guitarist, and backing vocalist Erik Kase Romero. Their genre-defying music encompasses rock, indie rock, folk punk, and, as Sella describes it, indie pop or acoustic pop.
Formation and Early Years: Formed in 2006 in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, The Front Bottoms trace their origins back to the collaboration of Brian Sella and childhood friend Mat Uychich. Following Sella’s first year of college, the duo began playing together under the moniker The Front Bottoms in August 2007. As their practices progressed, Brian Uychich, brother of Mat Uychich, joined the band, contributing vocals and keyboard skills with an old keyboard discovered in the Uychich family attic. With this complete lineup, the band recorded their first two albums and an EP.
