Rapper and new mother Bhad Bhabie, born Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, faced a harrowing experience earlier this week when she was mistakenly identified as a robbery suspect and detained by police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 11, at a 76 gas station in Woodland Hills, California.
According to TMZ, Bregoli was driving her Mercedes, which matched the description of a vehicle reportedly fleeing the scene of a burglary on the 4500 block of Winnetka Circle.
Police surrounded Bregoli and her boyfriend, Le Vaughn, but the situation was soon clarified as a “false alarm.”
Despite the confusion, both Bregoli and Le Vaughn cooperated fully with the authorities. Videos from the incident show the couple calmly conversing with officers and providing their business cards.
Bregoli, 21, shared her account of the event on Instagram Stories the following day. “Yesterday we got pulled over by LAPD,” she wrote.
“They eventually released us and explained they were looking for a similar vehicle that matched the description of a car involved in criminal activity. We are okay but a bit shaken up. Luckily my daughter was not in the vehicle at the time.”
Bregoli recently welcomed her first child, a daughter named Kali Love, in March.
