Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are once again caught in a volley of veiled remarks, reigniting speculation about their past relationship.
Spears, known for her hit song “Toxic,” recently posted a cryptic message on her now-private Instagram account, seemingly directed at her ex-boyfriend Timberlake.
“Someone told me someone was talking shit about me on the streets!!! Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time??? I’m not sorry!!!” She wrote.
The tone and content of the message suggest underlying tension between the former couple.

Timberlake, on the other hand, stirred the pot further during his recent performance in New York City. In between songs, he declared: “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely fucking nobody,” before launching into his hit song “Cry Me a River” — a track widely believed to be about Spears. This move comes after Timberlake publicly apologized to Spears and Janet Jackson in 2021, following the release of the documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
In his previous apology, Timberlake expressed regret for his past actions and acknowledged his failure to stand up against misogyny and racism.
He specifically apologized to Spears and Jackson, stating his respect and care for both women. However, his recent actions seem to retract from his earlier stance, raising eyebrows among fans and media observers.
This latest exchange between Spears and Timberlake follows Spears’ recent apology to Timberlake on Instagram, where she praised his new song “Selfish” and expressed admiration for his work.
