Britney Spears took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a heartfelt message expressing her longing for her family amidst their years-long feud.
Posting a photo of her mother, Lynne Spears, alongside her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughters, Britney reflected on the beauty of her family despite their differences.
In the Instagram post, Britney lamented over her “absolutely beautiful” family, acknowledging that while she wasn’t physically present in the photo, she felt deeply connected to them.
The image depicted Lynne Spears seated at a small kid’s table with Jamie Lynn’s daughters Maddie and Ivey Joan, along with other family members.
“We all have issues with our family but dear God you can’t help how much you love them,” she wrote. “I’m not in this picture but I sure as hell feel like I am.”
Britney fondly recalled the familiarity of such moments. Despite her absence from the photo, she emphasized her strong emotional connection to her family and expressed her yearning to reunite with them.
“On a side note … If you know me, I’ve always ended up at this kids (sic) table at every function I’ve ever been to !!!” Britney, 42, continued.
She added, “Anyways … I’m posting this pic because my family is absolutely beautiful and I miss them … I wanted to share this pic because although I’m not in it … I sure as hell felt as though I was !!!”
Britney’s relationship with her family has been tumultuous, particularly since the termination of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021. Throughout the years, she has publicly criticized her family, particularly her father, Jamie Spears, who served as her conservator.
In her bestselling memoir, “The Woman in Me,” Britney accused her father of controlling her life and exploiting her for financial gain.
She also held her mother accountable for her alleged inaction during difficult times, expressing feelings of betrayal towards her sister Jamie Lynn for monetizing off her struggles.
Despite the ongoing feud, Britney has maintained a positive relationship with her brother Bryan Spears, while tensions with her other family members continue to simmer.
