Demonte Jackson, the individual who orchestrated an armed home invasion targeting rapper Bun B and his wife Queenie in 2019, has been handed a 40-year prison sentence following Bun B’s poignant testimony earlier this week.
Houston’s Fox 26 and CBS affiliate KHOU 11 reported on Friday (June 7) regarding the substantial sentence imposed on Jackson.
The sentencing decision came just a day after Bun B took the stand, offering tearful recollections of the harrowing incident that unfolded in April 2019.
According to reports, the ordeal began when Queenie answered the doorbell, assuming it was a routine Amazon delivery.
To her horror, she was confronted by a masked Jackson wielding a firearm, who forcefully entered their residence, brandishing the weapon at Queenie.
Upon hearing his wife’s cries, Bun B rushed downstairs armed, as Queenie pleaded for him to remain upstairs out of fear for her safety. However, Bun proceeded to confront Jackson, discovering him in the garage seated in Queenie’s car.
Bun B discharged several rounds, striking Jackson in the shoulder. In retaliation, Jackson fired back, sparking a physical altercation before fleeing the scene. Bun managed to seize the intruder’s mask before he escaped.
In court footage shared by Fox 26, Bun B expressed his anguish over the traumatic event, highlighting the enduring impact it had on Queenie.
“There are times when [Queenie] gets closed off,” Bun lamented. “She can’t communicate, and I just get so angry all over again because she didn’t deserve this. She didn’t ask for this.”
Jackson faced charges of two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count of burglary.
