Cardi B shared her optimism about the current state of hip-hop, despite widespread criticism of the genre in recent years.
She was said in a recent conversation with the Hollywood Reporter
“I don’t think it’s bad right now; I just feel like people just don’t know what they want,” she said.
She attributed some of the negativity surrounding hip-hop to the influence of social media, suggesting that it often dictates trends and opinions.

Encouraging artists to stay true to themselves despite external criticism.
“Just keep doing you, fuck what people got to say,” Cardi added.

In November, rapper Lil Yachty criticized the current landscape of hip-hop, lamenting what he perceived as a lack of originality and risk-taking in the genre.
According to Yachty, there’s been an influx of quick, low-quality music that fails to push boundaries or innovate.
