Cardi B’s fans may have to wait a little longer for her highly-anticipated sophomore album, as recent interactions on social media suggest a delay in its release.
Since her groundbreaking debut album “Invasion of Privacy” in 2018, which produced chart-topping hits like “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” Cardi B has kept fans eagerly awaiting new music. Despite releasing successful standalone singles like “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, the rapper’s promised follow-up album has faced numerous delays.
Earlier assurances from Cardi herself, including on Complex’s 360 With Speedy, hinted at a potential album release this year. However, recent exchanges with fans on social media have cast doubt on this timeline.
In response to a tweet poking fun at her past album promises, Cardi expressed frustration, stating, “‘I’m so excited to put out new music.’ ‘I can’t wait to drop my album.’ ‘Wait until I drop this song.’ ‘Album coming soon.’”
“No it’s just annoying this means a lot to me and it’s always a complain and crying wit this pussy ass fanbase,” Cardi replied in a now-deleted tweet.
“See, your problem is that you want to create a cult, and I’m just too real for that,” Ty wrote back.
“No the problem is that you was even complaining when I was dropping music as well always got some shit to say wit your 3 neck rolls,” Cardi countered.
“That’s my thing like okay I get it talk your shit but this is a big accomplishment for me and of course here comes Bardigang complaining like Deum I can’t celebrate shit !” she added.
Despite Cardi’s reassurances of forthcoming music, fans remain skeptical, with some speculating that the album is far from completion. The lack of an official announcement, title, or album cover has only fueled further speculation.
