Chance the Rapper and his estranged wife, Kristen Corley, are ending their nearly six-year marriage. Corley filed for divorce on December 13, according to court records obtained by E! News. The couple, both 31, had previously announced their separation in April, revealing that they had already been living apart.
In a joint statement shared on their social media accounts at the time, they wrote, “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways.”
They expressed their commitment to co-parenting their two daughters, Kensli, 9, and Marli, 5, and emphasized their mutual respect for the time they spent together.
“We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” the statement continued. “God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.”
Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, and Kristen first met at a party when they were both around 9 years old, Chance shared on X (formerly Twitter).
They eventually began dating, and welcomed their daughter Kensli in 2015. In 2016, Kristen filed a petition for child support, which later led to a reconciliation.
The couple wed in a civil ceremony in December 2018, before holding a lavish wedding in Newport Beach, California, in 2019. The event had a star-studded guest list, including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Dave Chappelle.
In 2020, Chance shared how much family life meant to him, saying, “The fact that me, my daughters, and my wife all live in one house together is a huge, huge blessing.”
However, the couple’s relationship has now come to an end, marking the close of a chapter in their lives together.
