Manchester indie rock band Doves are set to release a new album, Constellations For The Lonely, marking their return after a three-year hiatus.
The album, scheduled for February 2025, follows the cancellation of their 2021 tour due to frontman Jimi Goodwin’s mental health struggles.
Doves, who formed in 1998, went on hiatus in 2010 and later reunited in 2018, dropping their first album in over a decade in 2020.
However, health challenges led them to step back from live performances.
Now, fans are thrilled by the band’s comeback, with teaser posters appearing in Manchester and excitement building on social media.
One fan wrote, “Suddenly life gets that little better when Doves announce that they are making a comeback.”
Much of the album was recorded remotely, a process that Goodwin described as a “godsend,” allowing him and bandmates, twin brothers Andy and Jez Williams, to adapt to new dynamics while maintaining their collective artistry.
Reflecting on their journey, the band’s 2021 statement remains relevant: “We have to take each other’s welfare as seriously as the music.”
Their latest work promises a meaningful return for both the band and their loyal fans.
