In a historic chart moment, Drake and SZA’s latest collaboration, “Slime You Out,” has debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first rap song to achieve this feat in 2023.

Prior to “Slime You Out,” Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red” briefly secured the top spot on the charts, ending a lengthy hiatus for rap music in the number one position.
Drake had come close to breaking this streak earlier in the year when his single “Search & Rescue” reached number two on the Hot 100.
In a striking turn of events, the top three spots on the Hot 100 are now occupied by rap and R&B songs, signifying a resurgence for these genres.
Following “Slime You Out” and holding strong at number two is Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red,” now in its seventh week on the charts.
SZA’s single “Snooze,” titled “Snooze,” has climbed to a new peak at number three after nearly ten months on the charts.
Notably, “Slime You Out” marks SZA’s second number one hit on the Hot 100 this year, with her earlier track “Kill Bill” having achieved the same feat.
She is the first artist in 2023 to top the charts with two different songs, solidifying her position as a chart powerhouse.
