Drake has once again found himself on the losing end of a high-stakes sports bet, this time involving the heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
On Saturday night, Fury suffered a split decision loss to Usyk in their highly anticipated bout in Saudi Arabia. For Drake, this meant a significant financial setback, as he had wagered a substantial $565,000 on Fury’s victory, with hopes of a potential $1 million payout.
This latest loss adds to a string of unsuccessful bets that Drake has made in combat sports. Earlier this year, he lost money when Francis Ngannou was defeated by Anthony Joshua, followed by losses of $700,000 on Sean Strickland versus Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297, $550,000 on Israel Adesanya versus Strickland, and $890,000 on Logan Paul knocking out Dillon Danis.
Drake’s history of betting woes extends beyond combat sports.
In December 2022, he lost a staggering $1 million on the World Cup final between Argentina and France. Additionally, he faced a loss of $275,000 when Colby Covington defeated Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 last year.
Despite these losses, Drake did experience a significant win earlier this year during Super Bowl LVIII. He placed a bold $1.15 million bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs emerged victorious with a 25-22 overtime win, securing Drake a substantial payout.
