A series of devastating wildfires sweeping through the Los Angeles area have destroyed more than 1,000 structures, including the homes of numerous celebrities.
The blazes, fueled by strong winds, have left Pacific Palisades and surrounding neighborhoods in ruins, reducing iconic properties and landmarks to ash.
Among those affected is actor James Woods, who broke down during a CNN interview as he recounted losing his Pacific Palisades home.
“One day you’re swimming in the pool, and the next day it’s all gone,” he said, holding back tears.
Billy Crystal also mourned the loss of his home, where he and his wife Janice had lived since 1979, saying, “Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.”
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton shared her heartbreak on Instagram, revealing her Malibu home had burned to the ground. “This home is where we built so many precious memories,” she wrote.
Similarly, actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester lost their Pacific Palisades property, while The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag shared emotional updates about evacuating as their home went up in flames.
Mandy Moore, who evacuated with her family and pets, shared footage of the destruction. “Our favorite restaurants, my children’s school, and so many friends’ homes are gone,” she wrote.
Other stars, including Sir Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, and Diane Warren, also suffered the loss of their homes, while Mark Hamill described his last-minute evacuation through roads flanked by small fires.
The fires have disrupted the entertainment industry, with the Oscar nominations postponed and premieres for major films canceled.
The devastation has spurred pledges of support, including $1 million from Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest, to aid recovery efforts.
As the flames continue to rage, celebrities and residents alike are grappling with the loss of homes, memories, and a sense of security in their communities.
Many have expressed gratitude for the safety of loved ones while rallying to support those affected in the wake of the disaster.
