Hull’s Polish community will be honored in a new exhibition at the Streetlife Museum, marking over 100 years of the community’s presence in the area.
Titled “Czesc Hull to my!” (which translates to “Hi Hull”), the exhibition will run from 29 March to 29 June and will be available in both Polish and English.
Part of the 2025 program by Hull Museums and the Ferens Art Gallery, the exhibition will showcase various aspects of Polish culture, including traditions, food, dress, and lifestyle.
The curation process has involved collaboration with local Polish schools and communities, ensuring a deeply personal and authentic representation of the Polish experience in Hull.
In addition to this, the Ferens Art Gallery’s new season will kick off on 14 February with “Sirens: Women and the Sea”, an exhibition featuring the works of iconic artists such as John William Waterhouse, Evelyn De Morgan, and Edward Burne-Jones.
The gallery’s 2025 program will also include the Festival of Archaeology and Colliderfest, a four-day science and arts festival.
Councillor Rob Pritchard expressed enthusiasm for the program, emphasizing Hull Museums’ first-class, free-to-visit facilities.
Jane Avison, Hull Museums and Gallery Manager, echoed this excitement, looking forward to another successful year following 2024’s achievements.
Hull Museums and the Ferens Art Gallery are open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–16:30, and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00, with free entry for all visitors.
