AHEAD of their second album release, ‘2’, Declan Welsh and The Decadent West share new honest single ‘I Don’t Know Why’.
Combining ominous guitar riffs with melodic synthesisers, the latest release from the Glaswegian quarter provides a new style to their beloved sound, expanding their established realm of sincerity.
Preceded by singles ‘King Of My Head’ and ‘Mercy’, the next LP milestone within the four piece’s discography will be released by Frictionless Music on September 22nd 2023.
Enigmatic frontman Welsh comments on the uncertainty within life, interpreting loss from varied viewpoints: “It’s a story from different characters’ perspectives – about how we cope with things ending. What we reach for. And how there’s such a massive amount of life that’s impossible to know, sometimes the only response is to walk into the unknown and embrace it”.
In the midst of a mini-tour across the UK and a sold out headline show at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom, 2023 also sees Declan Welsh and The Decadent West take to the main stage at TRNSMT on Friday 7th July alongside the likes of Joesef, The View and Pulp.
