Ice Cube smells something fishy in Diddy’s ongoing legal issues.
In a new conversation with the PBD Podcast, host Patrick Bet-David asked Cube about the extent to which he was involved with Diddy during his music career. Cube shared that he worked with Diddy and his producers on his 1998 album, War & Peace Volume 1 (The War Disc), saying that Diddy was “cool.”
Bet-David then asked Cube if he was “surprised” about Sean Combs’ current situation, which includes being the defendant in several sexual assault lawsuits, settling with Cassie for an undisclosed amount, and having his homes raided by the FBI.
“How could you be surprised with anything that happens in hip-hop?” Cube responded at around the 1:10:30 minute mark. “Hip-hop is the wild west. You gonna have the good, you gonna have the bad, you gonna have the ugly.”
When Bet-David wondered if Diddy was a target, Cube agreed.
“I believe he’s being targeted,” Ice said. “I believe somebody has the power to pull the trigger to make this stuff, this domino effect, happen.”
But then he admitted to not being extremely knowledgeable about Diddy’s legal troubles. “I don’t know enough to even be able to be specific on any of this stuff. This is all just speculation. I just know he was cool up until a point and this stuff started happening.”
Earlier this month, reports emerged that a federal grand jury was gathering evidence to pursue a potential sex trafficking and sexual assault case against Combs. He hasn’t yet been arrested or charged with a crime even with the many accusations lodged against him since November.
