Ice Cube has hit a milestone as his classic track “It Was A Good Day” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, marking a historic achievement in his illustrious career.
The news of this accomplishment was shared by Chart Data on Monday (December 18).
Originally released in 1993, “It Was A Good Day” has become a timeless anthem that resonates with fans across generations.
The track reached its peak at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, securing its place as Ice Cube’s highest-charting single to date. Additionally, it claimed the No. 7 spot on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
This achievement adds to Ice Cube’s remarkable year, as he was recently announced as the recipient of the inaugural Ice Cube Impact Award by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
The collaboration acknowledges Cube’s outstanding contributions to the world of basketball, highlighting his passion for the game and his commitment to fostering essential discussions on inclusivity, equal opportunity, and racial and social justice.
The award also recognizes his involvement in initiatives focused on education and community development.
“The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Award named in my honor is truly remarkable, and words alone can’t express my gratitude for this recognition from such a prestigious organization,”Ice Cube stated.
He emphasized his dedication to advancing inclusivity, equal opportunity, and community activism through this award.
