Jax Taylor is taking responsibility for inaccuracies in his recent divorce filing with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright. The Vanderpump Rules alum admitted that the handwritten and self-submitted legal paperwork contained mistakes.
His representative stated, “While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay.”
Though the statement did not specify which parts of the filing were incorrect, it clarified their custody arrangement.
The rep explained, “Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern.”
Following his court submission, Jax, 45, shared a cryptic message on Instagram that expressed his hope for a better future amid the challenges of his split from Brittany, who announced their breakup in February.
The quote read, “From October to December, your life is going to change for the better.”
Brittany, 34, filed for divorce after four years of marriage, marking their official separation date as January 24, while requesting sole custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz.
Jax later filed his own paperwork, listing a different separation date of September 26—the day he filed—and agreeing to give Brittany full legal and physical custody of their son.
However, there were conflicting details in Jax’s filing, including checking boxes indicating both that they were “never legally married” and that they were married.
Throughout this tumultuous period, Jax has been open about his journey of self-improvement, entering treatment for mental health struggles in July.
He expressed his commitment to getting better for Cruz, sharing a heartfelt photo of the two on Instagram with the caption, “Working on getting better for you buddy. I love you.”
