Justin Timberlake, who has been under scrutiny following the release of Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman in Me,” finally made a subtle acknowledgment during his performance at the grand opening of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel on Wednesday night.
While preparing to perform his 2002 hit single “Cry Me a River,” Timberlake made a significant gesture by bending down and signaling a “stop” motion with his hand, addressing the controversial song.
He told the crowd, “No disrespect.”
The song, released 21 years ago, alluded to Timberlake’s feelings about Spears allegedly cheating on him during their three-year relationship.

The music video even featured a “Britney look-alike,” propelling Timberlake’s career forward while Spears faced personal and professional setbacks.
Spears’ recent revelations in her memoir, including mutual infidelity and a private home abortion after becoming pregnant with Timberlake’s child, have shifted public opinion in her favor.
The media spectacle surrounding their breakup had portrayed Spears as an innocent virgin, contrasting with the reality of her personal life.
Timberlake’s recent acknowledgment raises questions about whether this will be the extent of his public response to the revelations in Spears’ memoir, leaving fans eager for a more substantial apology.
