Kai Cenat has set a new Twitch record, amassing 727,694 subscribers during his 30-day uninterrupted livestream, reclaiming the title for most subscribers in a single stream.
While Twitch has yet to confirm the final tally, the figure more than doubles the previous record of 326,252 set by IronMouse in October, which itself had surpassed Cenat’s earlier record from 2023.
The 22-year-old American streamer hosted an array of celebrity guests during the event, including Snoop Dogg, Serena Williams, and Bill Nye.
Snoop Dogg joined on the second day to discuss his upcoming album and later gave viewers a virtual tour of his Los Angeles home, showcasing luxuries like a basketball court, arcade room, and casino.
Williams appeared via video call, sharing her love for fast food and revealing that her sister Venus is the more patient tennis coach.
Nye, the beloved science educator, joined Cenat for hands-on experiments, demonstrating concepts like thermal conductivity.
Dubbed Mafiathon 2 in honor of Cenat’s fans, known as the “Kai Mafia,” the event aimed to boost subscriber numbers while entertaining his massive audience.
Subscribers pay to support their favorite streamers, with Twitch taking a percentage of the revenue.
Prices in the UK start at £4.99, and Cenat pledged to donate 20% of his earnings from the subathon to support the construction of a school in Nigeria.
Subathons are intended to run continuously, with brief breaks covered by guests.
However, this event faced interruptions, including a police visit to Cenat’s home due to a hoax emergency report, temporarily halting the stream.
With over 15 million followers on Twitch, Cenat’s record-breaking effort solidifies his status as one of the platform’s leading creators, combining his signature charisma with a commitment to impactful causes.
