Kanye West, also known as Ye, debuted a diss verse aimed at Drake and J. Cole on a remix to Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.”
The release follows a leak of the track circulating online over the weekend.
During an appearance on Justin LaBoy’s The Download, Ye premiered the remix featuring a fresh verse from him, alongside new bars from Ty Dolla $ign and Future.
In his verse, Ye leaves no room for ambiguity about his stance in the ongoing hip-hop rivalry, kicking off with: “You know we had to get the hooligans up here to get these pussy n***as out, yo Dot I got you.”
Ye’s lyrics take direct aim at Drake, with lines like, “It’s a wrap for nas/ Where’s Lucian, serve your master, na/ You caught a little bag for your masters didn’t ya/ Lifetime deal I feel bad for n***as.” He also targets J. Cole, suggesting a lack of creativity in his music: “Y’all so out of sight, out of mind / I can’t even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry.”
Ye shared a NSFW meme on social media, referencing a line from his “Like That” remix, implying that not listening to J. Cole could negatively impact one’s romantic encounters.
The beef between Ye, Drake, and J. Cole is nothing new. Drake has previously taken jabs at Ye in his music, while Cole addressed Ye’s perceived downfall in his track “False Prophets.”
Ye’s latest verse comes on the heels of his claims of superiority over Kendrick Lamar and Drake, stating that he “washed” both artists on previous tracks.
These assertions were made during Ye’s benefit concert advocating for the release of Larry Hoover.
