Kanye West shared his perspective on the devaluation of music on streaming platforms and his decision to forgo their use for his upcoming album, Vultures 2.
“Like James Blake said, streaming devalues our music. We sell albums on Yeezy.com,” West said.
He emphasized the potential of direct album sales, citing the significant reach of his Instagram following and the possibility of selling one million albums through his website.
West revealed plans to exclusively sell Vultures 2 on Yeezy.com, highlighting the success of previous sales on the platform, such as the one million items sold on Super Bowl Sunday.

Despite some fans expressing a preference for the album to be available on streaming services, West asserted his stance, stating, “Streaming is basically pirating.”
The decision to bypass streaming platforms comes amidst the anticipation surrounding Vultures 2, which features collaborations with notable artists including Young Thug, Future, Offset, Playboi Carti, Kid Cudi, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, and Don Toliver.
Although the album’s release was delayed, West and Ty Dolla Sign recently held a listening event in Los Angeles, providing fans with a preview of the highly anticipated tracks.
