Kenyan rapper Kalasinga is celebrating his first anniversary as a professional artist, reflecting on a year of growth, mentorship, and rising recognition in the local hip-hop scene.
Since making his official debut, he has gained a reputation for his raw storytelling and street-inspired music, attracting a growing fan base.
His debut recording has already amassed 21,200 monthly listeners.
Looking back on his journey, Kalasinga credits his success to discipline and consistency.
“As an upcoming artist, I hoped for opportunities, and they sure came to pass. Hard work makes anything possible,” he said.
A key part of his rise has been his collaborations with established industry figures.
Producer Benjah Beats, known for his work on KCity, and mentor Clemmo have played a crucial role in shaping his sound.
Through these connections, Kalasinga also secured an acting role in KCity, further expanding his artistic reach.
Kalasinga is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, Chafutone, a fusion of trap, genge, and Afrofusion. He describes it as a “street-inspired” project that will redefine Kenyan hip-hop. “People will understand its impact soon,” he teased.
Beyond his music, mentorship remains an important part of his journey.
His manager, Musa, believes Kalasinga has the potential to reach global audiences. “Kalasinga is a lyrical genius with international potential. It’s just the beginning,” he said.
With a strong team behind him and a clear vision for the future, Kalasinga is determined to take Kenyan hip-hop to new heights. “Chafu Moja to the world,” he declared. “This is just the start of a lasting legacy.”
