Kylie Kelce isn’t taking any chances when it comes to game day traditions, even though her husband, Jason Kelce, retired from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year after a remarkable 13 seasons. In fact, Kylie has her own set of superstitions she follows religiously, ensuring that she plays her part in bringing good luck to the team.
One of her key rules? No social media on game day. “No social media on game day!” Kylie exclusively revealed to E! News, believing that staying offline prevents her from jinxing anything.
But that’s not her only ritual. Kylie, who shares daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 18 months, with Jason, also relies on her lucky green hat to bring good fortune to the Eagles. Whether she’s cheering on her husband’s former team or supporting her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce, while watching the Kansas City Chiefs with Travis’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, Kylie’s green hat is always part of the game day look.
“I’m all in for the Eagles—’til the day I die,” the 32-year-old proudly stated.
Kylie’s game day rituals recently landed her a collaboration with The Athletic as part of their “Superstition Swap” campaign. The initiative encourages football fans to share their lucky routines in exchange for complimentary access to the site’s advanced stats and playoff predictions for the 2024-2025 NFL season.
“I’ve enjoyed reading articles on The Athletic for years,” Kylie shared with E!. “When they asked what my game day must-have was, I realized I’ve been asked about the hat enough times that it was time to share the story.”
It turns out, Kylie isn’t the only one with game day superstitions. According to The Athletic, over 70 percent of football fans believe that their rituals—like wearing a lucky piece of clothing—actually improve their team’s performance.
This season also marks the first time Kylie will have Jason by her side to watch an Eagles game as fans, now that he’s retired. Perhaps Jason will even develop his own post-retirement superstitions as they continue to support their team together.
For now, though, the former NFL star is focusing on life after football. “He’s been more conscious about what he’s putting in his body,” Kylie shared, “because he isn’t burning calories like he used to.”
With a green hat and game day rituals firmly in place, Kylie Kelce is ensuring her family stays connected to the sport they love—both on and off the field.
