Pop icon Kylie Minogue has unveiled plans for her largest world tour in over a decade, along with the release of Tension II, a sequel to her successful comeback album, Tension. The new album, featuring 13 tracks, is set to drop on October 18, followed by a global tour that will kick off in Australia in February. The tour will then extend through Asia and the UK.
Minogue expressed her excitement, stating she’s “beyond excited” to celebrate the Tension era with fans. “There will be a whole lot of Padaming,” she added, referencing her viral, Grammy-winning 2023 hit single, Padam Padam.
So far, 20 tour dates have been announced, but Minogue has assured fans that more will follow. This announcement comes as the 56-year-old experiences a career resurgence, driven by the success of Tension and Padam Padam. Earlier this year, she won her second Grammy, two decades after her first, and received the Global Icon Award at the Brit Awards.
Since her debut as Charlene on the popular Australian soap Neighbours in 1986, Minogue has released numerous hit singles, performed at the Sydney Olympics, earned an OBE, and starred in multiple films.
While fans are thrilled about the upcoming album and tour, some are facing scheduling conflicts. Minogue’s Newcastle concert clashes with Eurovision in Switzerland in May, and her Sydney dates coincide with the city’s annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade, a key event for her large LGBT fan base.
