“Emily in Paris” star Lily Collins has expressed excitement over the idea of a potential “Emily in London” spin-off, describing it as something that “would be so fun.”
The 35-year-old actress has recently settled in London to prepare for her West End debut in Barcelona, a romantic thriller where she plays an American tourist entangled in a one-night affair with a character portrayed by Money Heist star Álvaro Morte.
After the show’s opening night, Collins shared that she thinks her character, Emily Cooper, would fall in love with London just as much as Paris.
“She would definitely go to Portobello Road and buy some antiques, obviously visit Big Ben, and stop by Hamleys toy shop,” she muses.
She adds that Emily would also likely attempt to enter Buckingham Palace, hoping for tea with the King and a chance to make the stoic palace guards smile—though Collins doubts Emily would succeed in that endeavor.
The Netflix series has chronicled Emily’s journey as an American marketing executive in Paris, and by season four, viewers will follow her as she moves to Rome to open a new office.
The show has been renewed for a fifth season, though the filming location remains a mystery, with fans speculating on a possible move to London.
Interestingly, Cooper’s potential fondness for London mirrors Collins’s own love for the city.
Collins admits that, despite her star status, it’s not the high life that captivates her but London’s simple pleasures.
“I love the Tube, but most of all, I love sitting at the front of a double-decker bus, just looking out the window,” she says. “I don’t even need a destination. I just sit there and watch the sights and people go by.”
