Megan Thee Stallion is making waves as an independent artist while securing support from the global music giant Warner Music Group (WMG).
According to Billboard reports on Tuesday, Megan has entered a partnership with WMG for the distribution of her upcoming music, all while retaining ownership of her creative output.
Joining forces in this new venture are individuals from 300 Entertainment and select members from WMG.
Megan Thee Stallion announced on Instagram Live in October, just ahead of the release of her latest single “Cobra,” that her forthcoming project would be entirely self-funded.

“I have no label right now, and we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pocket. The next [project] y’all about to see is about to be all straight from Megan Thee Stallion—Megan Thee Stallion brain, Megan Thee Stallion wallet,” she stated.
“I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since [before] it was just me and my mama. It’s really just me this go-round until we sign to a new label. I don’t wanna sign to a new label right now because…I just wanna do it myself.”
Megan Thee Stallion recently concluded a three-year legal dispute with her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, reaching a settlement in October.
The legal battle, initiated by Megan in 2020, claimed that the label was hindering her from releasing music. Her second studio album, “Traumazine,” was released in August, and in addition to her solo endeavors, she collaborated with Cardi B on the track “Bongos” in September.
