Megan Thee Stallion slithers back into the music scene with her latest offering, “BOA,” adding another snake-themed track to her repertoire.
Following the releases of “Cobra” and “Hiss,” the H-Town rapper showcases her signature style once again in collaboration with producer LilJuMadeDaBeat.
“BOA” features an interpolation of Gwen Stefani’s 2004 single “What You Waiting For?” from her debut solo album, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.”
Megan teased the track’s release throughout the week on social media, drawing inspiration from old-school PlayStation video game art and titling the campaign “Curse of the Serpent Woman.” Embracing her love for cosplay, Megan donned the attire of Pirate Empress Boa Hancock from the popular manga series “One Piece.”
Accompanied by video teasers showcasing a snake versus alligator showdown, “BOA” brings retro gaming to the forefront, with the music video revolving around a gaming narrative. T
hree players find themselves facing off against Megan in various scenarios, resulting in calamitous outcomes.
“BOA” arrives less than a year after Megan’s distribution deal with Warner Music Group, granting her access to the company’s global affiliates while retaining ownership of her publishing and masters.
The 29-year-old rapper’s forthcoming album, to be released through her indie imprint Hot Girl Productions and distributed by WMG, has been eagerly anticipated.
In an April interview with Women’s Health, Megan discussed the album’s theme of rebirth and growth, expressing her desire to evolve both physically and mentally.
