Carla Hester, 41, and James, 34, from Lincolnshire, celebrated their unique wedding with a music-inspired twist.
The couple met through an online fan site for the Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro, bonding over their mutual love for music and vinyl records.
When the band announced their Celebration of Beginnings tour, including a stop at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom, Carla and James knew it was the perfect venue for their non-traditional wedding celebration.
As friends gathered outside the concert venue days before the wedding, Carla held up a sign at the front reading, “I’m getting married tomorrow!”
Excitedly, she met members of the band’s family, and after the show, drummer James Johnston greeted them as “the guys that are getting married,” thanks to a tip-off from his mother.
The couple’s wedding ceremony took place in Glasgow city center, attended by family and friends who traveled from England.
Ahead of the final concert night, they gathered at Saint Lukes & the Winged Ox with fellow Biffy Clyro fans, whom Carla describes as their “Biffy family.”
As Biffy Clyro performed There’s No Such Thing as a Jaggy Snake, Carla made her dream come true, crowd-surfing in her wedding dress with encouragement from other fans.
The couple’s honeymoon plans continue their musical journey, with a concert in Milan featuring Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, the very band that sparked their first conversation.
